Sometimes I come across songs that make me think "Lady friend!" Thus, I present, a mini-mix of person-specific songs, for all to enjoy. You probably all have these songs already, but whatever. YOU WILL TAKE WHAT I GIVE YOU, CLOWN.

FOR EC: Atlantic City - Bruce.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/d55slm

You may need a password. It would be "eatadick".

FOR JEB: The Boy in the Bubble - Paul Simon.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/bxodzr

FOR CRRROUCH: Ghosts of York - As Tall As Lions
http://www.sendspace.com/file/q633ia

I highly doubt that link works, so I also give you: Love and Memories - OAR
http://www.sendspace.com/file/femryn

FOR NINA: Gimme Some Motivation - Delta Spirit. I also wanted to put "In A Little While" with U2 and Brandon Flowers, but I can't seem to find the file. You already have it anyways. It was more for the masses.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/6fiosd

FOR BALINE: Istanbul (Not Constantinople) - They Might Be Giants. Okay, so this song doesn't actually remind me of you, but I know that you appreciate how Constantinople came to be Istanbul.

Some of my favoritos.

Hokay. I can't pick my all time favorite songs. It can't be done. But I have compiled some of the songs that I will always listen to, some for quality reasons, some for sentimental reasons. Enjoy!

Caravane - Raphael. Like I need to explain this. Not only is it an awesome song, with a gorgeous little Frenchman singing it, but it brings me back to gay Paris, and crepe filled nights.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/grnmpf

Good - Better Than Ezra. I belt out this song while alone in my car, every time.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/sm41y7

Running on Faith - Eric Clapton. Acoustic. I love this song.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/bamhrz

Hey Hey What Can I Do? - Led Zeppelin. Again. Love this song.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/skqdhz

While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles. How underrated is George Harrison? Might might might be my favorite Beatles song. Definitely top 3.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/a3a8kf

Yellow - Coldplay. Listened to "Parachutes" the ENTIRE flight over to England my first time abroad. Gave up the V-card to the same album. Yep. It earns a place.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/sf8yj9

Missing - Beck. Not my favorite Beck song, though I do enjoy it very much; I just don't have that much Beck on this computer. I love Beck. Why must he be so awesome?
http://www.sendspace.com/file/57kr4b

Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead. Yes. My fake plastic love.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/0mw7ex

Paint It Black - Rolling Stones. Great song.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/04j05f

Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - U2. Same deal as the Beatles. Might be my favorite u2 song...definite top 5.

Pre-Road Trip Post

So this Saturday I'm leaving for my epic trip across the country with the three other W-H'ers. Don't worry. I'm going to be a music nazi the entire trip. I told Mike that we can only listen to "White Houses" once a state.

But before I leave, I'm giving you guys some fabulous songs that you may enjoy in my absence.

The Rakes - The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect (In what way was this song not meant for us?)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/bfyjrr

Muse - Feeling Good
http://www.sendspace.com/file/t9zp7p

Dirty Pretty Things - Last of the Small Town Playboys
http://www.sendspace.com/file/oj6f42

Dodgy - Good Enough
http://www.sendspace.com/file/fikm5w

Jessica Hoop - Intelligentactile 101 (This girl was a nanny for Tom Waits' kids. I mean, is there much cooler than that? Also, ten bucks says that this song is in the next season of Grey's Anatomy.)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/q2xy5g

Jeremy Fischer - Jolene
http://www.sendspace.com/file/fapnxh

Pernice Brothers - Somerville
http://www.sendspace.com/file/vw2rwv

Explosions In the Sky - Look Into the Air (This one's instrumental and random. It's from Friday Night Lights and it's really good sleeping music).
http://www.sendspace.com/file/wwn0hi

And just because I can...

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell (ACOUSTIC BITCHES)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/8fltc0

Ok dears. Enjoy the music and I shall return soon. Or not. I might get eaten by bears in Yellowstone. Good thing I'm taking my Bear Facts Playing Cards. Post tons of music for when I get back.

I Did It! ------ I Think.

Lady Friends.

I am entitling this mix Summer Catch. Not for a reference to the now Where Are They Now? Freddie Prinze Jr. But because of the darn catchiness of these songs I think represent summer. YES. Jessica Biel listen to THIS:

Come On Petunia - The Blow
-this adds to nina's previous mix with covers
http://www.sendspace.com/file/4ou6gq

I Can't Stop This Feeling I've Got - Razorlight
Kirsten Dunst is dating the lead singer, I hope this doesn't make you guys hate it.

Hello darlings. I'm so glad to see two of you have been able to make it through the treacherous path of creating a username for ze blog. I decided that I wanted to post my top ten favorite songs....ever. This has been mighty hard. In the process of making the list, I ended up with 23 songs. So don't be surprised if I do it again with ten new and different songs. IRREGARDLESS. Here they are in no particular order.

1. Foo Fighters - Everlong. Apparently this song is also Dave Letterman's favorite song. We're basically the same person Dave and I.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/gowctr

2. Weezer - The World Has Turned And Left Me Here. This song is so fantastically emo it makes me want to put on some dark rimmed glasses and clip my keys onto a caribeener on my belt loops. The Blue Album will always be one of my favorite albums. Who didn't love the Buddy Holly video when they were in a fucking episode of Happy Days?
http://www.sendspace.com/file/qum7td

3. Bright Eyes - Land Locked Blues. I won't try and defend myself on this one. I love this song. I love Bright Eyes. Everyone just has to deal with it.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/c8kl65

4. The Beatles - Hey Jude. I actually just love when Paul McCartney yells "Hey Juuudy Judy Judy Judy!" because it reminds me of Izzard. Don't call me Judy!
http://www.sendspace.com/file/svde7b

5. Queen and David Bowie - Under Pressue. If you need to be convinced that this is the greatest song ever, then we're probably not actually friends.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/aimp45

6. The Clash - Should I Stay Or Should I Go? This one was hard to choose. It was either this one or Train In Vain. However, this one won out because of the first 30 seconds.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/brdtx4

7. U2 - Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses? Bono. The Edge. Adam. Larry. Who's going to ride my wild horses U2? BONO. That's who.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/1ie0hq

8. Jimmy Eat World - Sweetness. When they opened for Green Day they played this song and I didn't realize until that point that I love this song far too much. The chorus basically makes you wish you were a much better singer than you are. Unless you're EC and can actually sing.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/t94p4j

9. All These Things That I've Done - The Killers. Fine Flowers. You win. This is an awesome song and it rules to hear it live. Ok? Just because it's one of my favorite songs doesn't mean I can hate you any less.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/qdim1q

10. Violent Femmes - Blister In the Sun. Here's where I admit I've never seen Grosse Pointe Blank. Irregardless, I love this song, the beginning, the chorus, the odd references to big hands.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/f58ynb

Honorable mentions: Me and Julio - Paul Simon; Carousel - Blink 182; Clementine - Elliott Smith; Waiting - Green Day; Don't Think Twice It's Alright - Bob Dylan; Last Nite - The Strokes; Devil's Haircut - Beck; Take A Walk On the Wildside - Lou Reed

So chilluns...what be your top ten? Post away so I can steal your music. With our powers combined, there's no stopping our musical domination! Let's go team!

Hello lady blogs. Ew. I immediately regret typing that. I'm back from the midwest, Manda's back from the South, and soon EC will be back from the Greeks. We shall celebrate this with a new playlist! Huzzah!

The theme for all of these songs is that they're all covers of other songs. Now I realize that a playlist of cover songs is like jumping the shark for playlists. And that some people hate cover songs. To those people I say, suck it. I love cover songs and you must accept this as one of my many flaws.

The first song is an example of my favorite thing about cover songs. It allows you to listen to a song that is actually good, but it's been avoided because you hate the artist. I give you...

Arctic Monkeys - You Know I'm No Good (Amy Winehouse cover) KEC and I have discussed this already. I don't like her, her look, or anything about her really. I do, however, like the Arctic Monkeys. That's why this is happening.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ptbeml

The Kooks - Crazy (Gnarls Barkley cover) - I got so sick of this song. Then I found The Kooks cover and loved it again...as long as it was this version.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/nolori

Lily Allen - Naive (The Kooks cover)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/qq659f

Rilo Kiley - Rock and Roll Suicide (David Bowie cover)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/z4pz9o

Beck - Clementine (Elliott Smith cover)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/hhprec

Jamie Cullum - High and Dry (Radiohead cover)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/hmz7hg

Ben Gibbard - Free Falling (Tom Petty cover)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/oj60fd

Bettie Serveert - Lover I Don't Have To Love (Bright Eyes cover)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/bwkcvd

Susanna and the Magical Orchestra - Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Division cover) I also have a Fall Out Boy cover of this song which is just as fabulous, but I opted for this one. It's from Grey's Anatomy, when George's dad is in the hospital. Poor George.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/og4m4q

Cold War Kids - I Don't Wanna Grow Up (Tom Waits cover)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/eqofqf

Chris Garneau - Between the Bars (Elliott Smith cover) There's also have a good cover of this song by Metric. I just really like this guy.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/tr152b

Goldspot - Float On (Modest Mouse cover)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/tldmil

Bob Dylan - Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/yrf67y

Green Day - The Kids Are Alright (The Who cover)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/hge2sy

Snow Patrol - Teenage Kicks (The Undertones cover) The only way I enjoy a Snow Patrol song is when it isn't actually theirs.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/c88aym

Annnnnnnnnnd I'm spent. Go forth and enjoy.

A Sampler from the North

This blog has been infiltrated. By the Communists.

Hey kids, it's Comrade KEC! Comrade Connolly is feasting on cookies in America's Heartland.
And just like that, we've been blacklisted.

I am not at Nina's Playlist level, I just have a couple songs I feel very strongly about. Enjoy!

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Weapon of Choice
http://www.sendspace.com/file/gz52wv

The Arcade Fire - Building Downtown (Antichrist Television Blues)
